Fukrey Returns trailer: This crazy comedy might just be the 'deja-chu' fans need

Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's comedy caper carries on from where it left off in the first part, except this time the gang has a tiger by its tail.

Fukrey (2013) proved to be a surprisingly popular comedy, with its four characters, Hunny, Lali, Zafar and Choocha, trying short cuts to get into the fast lane of life. The trailer of the film's sequel, Fukrey Returns, released today, and carries on precisely from where the original left off.

The trailer begins with Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Lali (Manjot Singh) and Choocha (Varun Sharma) living off the money they scammed in the first film. Except, their nemesis Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha) is back, and wants 'payback'.

Thus, the three, along with Zafar (Ali Fazal) and Pandit (Pankaj Tripathi) are dragged in to fulfill the lady boss' new scam — making up lottery numbers for the entire city of Delhi. With Choocha's new powers of premonition, and a dream about a treasure in a cave, the quartet need to find a way to get out of this new mess.

The trailer is filled with comedy, and mishaps that play to the strengths of the film's plotline. Some of the jokes feel a little forced, but the haphazard nature of the comedy and the high energy level keep the interest flowing.

The trailer reveals little about the film, but does promise an intriguing plot twist. After a turn of serious roles, it is refreshing to see Pankaj Tripathi return to his easy comedy, alongside Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Pulkit Samrat and the others. Varun Sharma looks to be the centre of attention in the film with his powers of 'deja -chu', and delivers the comedy.

Fukrey Returns is set to be released on 15 December.
