It has been 17 years since Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit were seen together on the big screen with Rajkumar Santoshi's Pukar. Now, director Indra Kumar seeks to bring the hit pair of the 1990s together in the upcoming, Total Dhamaal.

Speaking to the tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Kumar said, "Yes, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit have been paired in Total Dhamaal which goes on the floors in January in Mumbai." Indra Kumar's three great successes in the 1990s came with Dil (1990), Beta (1992) and Raja (1995) — all starring Madhuri Dixit.

Kumar also directed the pair in Beta (1992), which won them both the Filmfare award for Best Actor and Best Actress that year. The film also had one of Dixit's most iconic performances in  'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga'.

However, the director waved away any possibilities of repeating the song. He said, "This film is essentially a comedy so don't expect any 'Dhak Dhak', but I promise total dhamaal. Anil and Madhuri have always been a great pair to work with and getting them together again is a dream."

Dixit will also start working in Priyanka Chopra's television series production based on her own life in 2018.
