Director Anurag Kashyap has roped in actor Akash Thosar and actress Radhika Apte to play key roles in his short film in the anthology titled Love and Lust along with directors Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, and Dibakar Banerjee.
The actor, who became an overnight star with his Marathi debut in Nagraj Popatrao Manjule’s Sairat (2016). After Sairat, he acted in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film F.U. Friendship Unlimited this year.
Kashyap’s short, which will be around 30 minutes long, was filmed in and around Bandra, Mumbai over four days. Both Apte and Thosar play friends in the film. The tabloid Mumbai Mirror reported that Apte “plays a character who deals with several complexities in a relationship”.
Four years ago, for Bombay Talkies (2013), Kashyap got together with filmmakers Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar to direct four separate short films. For Love and Lust, Akhtar’s film will star Bhumi Pednekar, Neil Bhoopalam and Rasika Duggal, while Dibakar’s film stars Manisha Koirala.
Just yesterday, it was announced that Johar’s short will be a comedy starring Vicky Kaushal.
