Actress Sunita Rajwar sues Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Rs2 crore

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's decision to recall his memoir, An Ordinary Life, from the shelves has not prevented him from being sued. Actress Sunita Rajwar, an ex-girlfriend of the actor, has sent him a legal notice for allegedly tainting her image in the book.

Deccan Chronicle, a daily, quoted Rajwar as saying, "I am taking legal action because the damage is already done and it’s irreversible." The actress, who hasn't spoken to Siddiqui in the last 16 years, has asked for a compensation of Rs2 crore in the legal suit.

Rajwar has accused the actor of using their relationship for a 'publicity stunt'. According to the newspaper, the legal notice alleges that Siddiqui'a book portrays Rajwar as someone 'who drove Nawaz to think of committing suicide.'

The notice also names co-author Rituparna Chatterjee, who helped Siddiqui edit the memoir; and the publisher, Harper Collins.

Earlier, the actor's ex-girlfriend, actress Niharika Singh, had slammed him for writing about their relationship in his book without her permission.

In a long Facebook post, the actress had accused Siddiqui of 'willing to exploit and disrespect a woman' for his benefit.
