Vicky Kaushal joins Karan Johar's Bombay Talkies sequel

While the subject of the film has not been revealed yet, Johar's short in the sequel is reportedly an out-and-out comedy.

Actor Vicky Kaushal has added another project to his filmography. He has reportedly joined director Karan Johar's cast for the sequel to Bombay Talkies (2013). Johar is expected to direct one of the four short films to be included in the sequel montage.

Johar's segment is expected to be a comedy, a first for the director. It will also be a first for Kaushal, who is known for performing serious characters in independent cinema. The combination of the two is a promising venture for fans. The subject of the film has not been revealed yet.

A source close to the film said, "The series will be an out and out comedy, where Karan (Johar) will unleash his creativity to the brim. Karan approached Vicky after seeing the rushes of Raazi and after giving screen test Vicky was selected to play the main lead. The final paperwork is to take place next week."

Johar's section in the sequel will be produced by Ashi Dua, and presented by Ronnie Screwvala.

Kaushal is already a part of two major projects — Rajkumar Hirani's Dutt biopic and Meghna Gulzar's Raazi — that are expected to be released in 2018. The actor is also a part of Ronnie Screwvala's upcoming production, Love Per Square Feet, and Uri, based on the recent surgical strikes.
