Raveena Tandon's comeback film Maatr (2017) failed to make an impact, but the 1990s diva will hope for better returns with her next, Shab.
Shab will be directed by critcially acclaimed director Onir. The filmmaker released the first poster of Shab, which contains the images of the three principal characters. The film is prodcued by Sanjay Suri who has also acted in the film.
Set in Delhi, Shab is set to be a romantic drama involving Raina (Arpita Chatterjee), Afzar (Ashish Bisht) and Sonal (Raveena Tandon). Raina works at a coffee shop and her boyfriend Afzar is an aspiring model. Sonal is a fashion patron who becomes his mentor. The film centres around their intense relationship.
Bisht and Chatterjee display a certain intensity which is visible in their eyes. There is also a French character, Benoit (Simon Frenay) who impacts their lives.
While Bisht makes his debut with Shab, Chatterjee is a well-known name in the Bengali film industry. She had made her Hindi film debut with Chauranga (2016) that was produced by Onir.
Shab is Onir's first project as director after he helmed the National Award-winning Hindi film I Am (2010). Shab is to be released on 30 June.
