Safeguard your money for your banks are no longer safe as a 'Bank Chor' is on the prowl. Yash Raj Films unveiled the motion poster of their upcoming comedy Bank Chor. The makers had earlier released a quirky poster.
What strikes you about the motion poster is the line: '3 Idiots, 1 bank, 1 screwed up day'. Going by the visuals, the three idiots here are Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Rhea Chakraborty. It’s well documented how Deshmukh is the Bank Chor, while Oberoi is the cop. Chakraborty is the roving reporter who covers the chase live. Her revealing outfit is too good to be true for a TV reporter.
The actor is heard saying GBMLR, which basically translates to Ganpati Bappa Morya Let’s Rock. Yes, why not take Lord Ganesha’s name before any task — legal or illegal?
The setting suggests that Deshkmukh has perhaps tried robbing a south Mumbai bank. Oberoi leads the police team chasing Deshmukh. You are left intrigued by the vans in the motion poster, one of which has the "C.B.I Control Van" sticker on it. We will know what this means when the film is released on 16 June.
Before that, the makers will release a trailer on 9 May.
Directed by Bumpy, Bank Chor was first offered to TV star Kapil Sharma, but the comedian backed out because he couldn’t cut down on shooting for his TV show Comedy Nights With Kapil.
Sharma eventually made his debut with Abbas-Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015). Rumour also had it that Bank Chor was offered to Nargis Fakhri, but the Rockstar (2011) actress wasn’t keen to work with a debutant actor like Sharma. Bank Chor was then put on hold before Yash Raj Films revived the project with Deshmukh, Oberoi and Chakraborty.
