SS Rajamouli's blocbuster seems unstoppable at the box office. The film has officially collected over Rs1,000 crore at the box office. To add to that stupendous number, it has achieved this success in 10 days.

Sources close to the unit of the film say that the film has made over Rs800 crore in India and around Rs200 crore overseas. BoxOfficeIndia.com put the figures at Rs854 crore approx in India, while the overseas collections touch Rs193 crore. This puts the film's gross worldwide collection at Rs1,047 crore. With the overseas and Indian business still going strong, it is likely that these figures will increase in the next couple of weeks.

This achievement makes Rajamouli's film the first film in the history of Indian cinema to cross this elusive number. The last successful film to come close to Rs1,000 crore was PK (2014) which racked up Rs743 crore worldwide. The closest threat to the film is possibly Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal (2016). Howver, despite its recent successful release in China, the Aamir Khan starrer is unlikely to cross Rs900 crore.

Needless to say, the entire team of Baahubali is delighted with the achievement. Actor Prabhas, who plays the hero, issued a statement to all his fans as soon as news broke out on Baahubali 2 phenomenal success.

He said, "To all my fans, a big hug to each one of you for all the love that you'll have showered on me. I have tried my best to go through a lot of the efforts that you all have put to express your affection for me from different parts of India and even overseas. I am truly overwhelmed with everything. The journey of Baahubali has been a long one but among the few things that I will take away from this, is all of you. Lots of love back to you all.

"A big thank you to Rajamouli sir for believing in me to carry his huge vision to the masses, giving me a once-in-a-lifetime character of Baahubali and making the entire journey so special, Thanks, Prabhas."

Karan Johar, who is distributing the Hindi version of the film, posted his delight at the achievement on Twitter.

Other Telugu superstars like Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan also joined in the celebration, congratulating the Baahubali team on their success.

It looks like there are no records left for Rajamouli's film to shatter anymore.
