Justin Bieber is visiting India for the first time as part of the Jio Justin Bieber Purpose Tour. The pop sensation's live performance has already got fans, and film stars, queuing up for tickets. However, Karan Johar wants to sit down for a more one to one conversation with the star. Reports suggest that Johar is trying to get Bieber to appear on the opening show of Koffee with Karan season 6.
Reports suggest that Johar, who has interviewed celebrities and stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, is trying to host Bieber on the same show. Johar's show, Koffee with Karan, has already completed 105 episodes over the last five seasons. The director plans to open the sixth season with an international celebrity.
DNA, the daily newspaper, quoted a source close to the show as saying, "This will be the first time an international celebrity of Bieber's calibre will be featuring in an Indian chat show format."
Johar has established his rapport on the international stage by hosting several Hollywood celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Maria Sharapova, and designer Christian Loboutin on interactive platforms. In addition, his prestige and rapport with international actors such as Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and George Clooney ensures a better standing at attracting Bieber to the show.
"He will definitely do full justice to this one-on-one exchange if Bieber actually does decide to reserve a time slot for it in his busy schedule," the source was quoted as saying.
Justin Bieber is in India for the Jio Justin Bieber Purpose Tour. The pop sensation is expected to perform in Mumbai on 10 May, before visiting New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra on the tour.
