Actor Parvin Dabas is working with Bhandarkar on the movie.
"Early morning 6:30 a.m. call time shoot across the sea link, Worli. This city is beautiful in the morning," Parvin posted on his Facebook page, along with a video of a drive on the sea link.
Dabas also described Bhandarkar as "the coolest director".
"Always a great time on set," he said.
Other than this project, Bhandarkar is busy working on his upcoming film Indu Sarkar, which will be released on 21 July. The movie is reportedly based on the Emergency era, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977, when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency across the country. It features Anupam Kher, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kirti Kulhari and Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury.
A recipient of the Padma Shri, Bhandarkar is known for his socially relevant films like Traffic Signal, Chandni Bar, Fashion and Page 3.
