Box office: Hindi Baahubali 2 earns Rs245 crore, smashes Sultan's first week record

Previously held records are tumbling like bowling pins with Baahubali 2: The Conclusion continuing its juggernaut at the box office.
While the all-India first week figure is yet to arrive, the film had bagged Rs624 crore nett (approximate) in six days. The Hindi version has set a record for the first week collections by bagging a staggering Rs245 crore nett (approximate), as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. It has beaten the earlier record set by Salman Khan’s Sultan which had pocketed Rs208.99 crore nett in that period.
Baahubali has already surpassed the worldwide record by grossing Rs792 crore in six days. The previous record was held by Aamir Khan’s PK (2014) which grossed Rs743 crore. Khan’s 2016 blockbuster Dangal had made Rs718 crore worldwide.
Baahubali is looking good to breach the Rs1,000 crore barrier with no major release this Friday (5 May). The biggest challenge for the Hindi version will be to beat the record of Dangal which netted Rs375 crore.
Made at an approximate budget of Rs250 crore, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has released across 6,500 screens in India.
