Raabta co-stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon have jointly slammed online trolls. The two artistes were in Jalandhar, Punjab, to promote the film when they hit out at the trolls.

"Soon a time will come when intelligent people will not even get affected by trolls," Rajput said. "There are 10 trending topics every hour of every day on social media. This gives everyone a platform to say anything about anybody and then tag somebody — eventually you will be heard."

"Getting famous today is easy: if you can come up with any obnoxious or stupid thing, you get talked about. You can even become president of a country," the MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) star added.

Sanon agreed with Rajput, lamenting how people get offended for no reason. "People are very impatient today. You say anything and it is immediately taken out of context. People get offended for no reason," she said.

A few weeks ago, Rajput had refused to comment on the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the alleged Indian spy sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court, during the launch of the trailer of Raabta. While the journalist who asked the question slammed him, Rajput was firm and refused to speak on a topic he knew nothing about.

It may be recalled that the actor was trolled by others from the Rajput community after he condemned the attack on director Sanjay Leela Bhansali by some fringe groups. The shooting of Bhansali’s Padmavati has been disrupted a few times with some Rajput groups accusing the director of fabricating history.

Raabta is set to be released on 9 June.
