Saif Ali Khan has a busy second half of 2017 lined up. Besides the Indian remake of Jon Favreau’s Chef and the thriller Kaalakaandi, Khan has added the December release Baazaar to his list.
In the first poster of the drama, a visibly older Khan (with a white streak running through his hair) is seen against the backdrop of the bustling city of Mumbai. He looks like he means business, positioned next to the tagline, “Yahan paisa Bhagwaan nahin, par Bhagwaan se kam bhi nahin [Money is not God, but it’s not lesser than God]. The film’s dialogue was written by writers Aseem Arora and Perveez Shaikh.
Directed by first-time director Gauravv K Chawla, the film also introduces Rohan Mehra, son of late actor Vinod Mehra. However, Rohan does not appear on the poster. Instead, Khan is seen emerging from a large silhouette of his face.
Baazaar is produced by Nikkhil Advani, Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor, Monisha Advani and Madhu G Bhojwani and is due to be released this December. Gauravv K Chawla had previously assisted Advani on Patiala House (2011) and directed Advani’s TV series POW Bandi Yuddh Ke earlier this year.
