The first look of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character from director Ravi Udyawar’s Mom has just been released. The actor looks almost unrecognisable as the menacing villain in the Sridevi starrer. The look is reminiscent of the Rajkummar Rao's look in Raabta, although Siddiqui's appearance is not quite as drastic.
For the first time ever, the Raman Raghav 2.0 actor is playing a bald man. However, he is bald only from the front, but has long hair at the back. The drastic hairstyle adds to the uniqueness of Siddiqui's look in the film. There have been few characters in recent years that have sported such a hairstyle.
But what defines the look is the actor’s menacing expression, something at which he is a master. The sight of Siddiqui's creepy character looking through the sunglasses is enough to give anyone the chills.
The actor does make a fleeting appearance in the teaser of Mom, which was released some time back. However, due to the blink-and-miss duration and the unusual look, a lot of people failed to notice him.
Siddiqui is only making a special appearance in the film as mentioned in the credits. Yet, the appearance of the character in the trailer suggests that his role might have a deeper impact despite its short length. Mom also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Ali, Adnan Siddiqui and Abhimanyu Singh (of Gulaal fame).
The film is all set to release of 7 July. It was supposed to release a week later on 14 July, but the release has been advanced in order to avoid a clash with Jagga Jasoos, Chef, and Haseena: The Queen Of Mumbai.
