Sanjay Dutt is currently busy with director Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi (2017), which will be his comeback film after his return from prison. But before the film releases on 22 September, he has already signed his next with the same producers, titled Malang. It will be the directorial debut of Aarambhh Kumar, an assistant director on Bhoomi.

Malang is produced under Bhushan Kumar’s banner T-Series and Legend Studios, which is owned by Omung Kumar and Sandeep Singh.

Apparently, Dutt instantly agreed to come on board after hearing the narration. “I have always believed in the passion of newcomers and fresh talent. I observed Aarambhh since he was the assisting Omung during Bhoomi. When he narrated Malang to me, I looked at Sandeep and said, ‘I am hooked.’ The layering of my character and the plot, the setting of Varanasi has me most excited about this project,” he said in an official statement.

Sanjay Dutt's approval has, obviously, delighted Aarambhh. “It’s a huge opportunity to direct Sanjay sir and have him as the hero of my film. I am very grateful to him for letting me direct a great star like him. It’s a dream come true. I am also very thankful to Sandeep sir and Omung sir for showing immense faith in me and giving me this chance to showcase my talent,” he said.

Besides Bhoomi and Malang, Sanjay Dutt will also be starring in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3.
