Sanjay Dutt has been an integral part of the Dhamaal franchise, having featured in both, Dhamaal (2007) and Double Dhamaal (2011), directed by Indra Kumar. However, the actor has now opted out of the third film, Total Dhamaal. While the reason cited is a problem of availability, rumour has it that the actor wasn't keen on being part of an adult comedy.
"Besides the issue of unavailability of dates, Dutt was not okay with the film's adult comedy. He doesn’t want his children to see him in a film that has innuendo-laden jokes or crass humour," suggested sources close to the actor.
Rumour also has it that Riteish Deshmukh, too, has backed out of Total Dhamaal.
When contacted, Dutt's manager refused to comment on the matter and directed this reporter to contact the publicists.
Upon being released from jail last year, Dutt first signed Omung Kumar's Bhoomi as his comeback film. Dutt has also signed for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Marco Bhau.
The actor has his dates locked till the end of 2018 with films like Torbaaz, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and also another collaborative project with Ajay Devgn.
