With Rs441 crore nett in 5 days, Baahubali is the most successful film in India


SS Rajamouli's epic film becomes the highest grossing film in India; Hindi version close to collecting Rs200 crore.

The writing was on the wall. Baahubai 2: The Conclusion continues to shatter records at the Indian box office. SS Rajamouli’s epic film has bagged a mind-boggling gross collection of Rs565 crore (approximate) in all languages with a nett collection in five days totalling to a phenomenal Rs441 crore, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. The earlier record was set by the Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) which had grossed Rs519 crore (approximate), while its nett collection amounted to Rs419 crore (approximate).

The next in line was Aamir Khan’s Hindi film Dangal (2016) which had netted approximately Rs387.28 crore (all languages) in its India collections.

The Hindi version of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion smashed another record by bagging a record Rs29.50 crore on its first Tuesday. These numbers though are influenced by enhanced ticket rates. The film beat the record of Salman Khan’s Kick (2014) which had bagged Rs26.81 on its first Tuesday, which happened to be a holiday.

The five-day collection of the Hindi version stands at approximately Rs197.50 crore. Compared to Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Dangal had managed to cross over Rs155 crore in five days. The next big challenge for the Hindi version will be whether it can match surpass Dangal (Hindi ) which had earned approximately Rs374 nett through the domestic collections.

Earlier, the Hindi version of Baahubali had smashed the record for the highest opening day collection bagging approximately Rs40.75 crore, beating the Rs39.32 crore (approximate) achieved by Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). Baahubali 2. It then set the record for the highest day collection getting Rs46.2 crore on its first Sunday.

Made at an approximate budget of Rs250 crore, the film had released across a record 6500 screens in India. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion stars Rana Daggubati, Prabhas and Tamannaah Bhatia. Both the Baahubali films have been collectively made at a cost of Rs450 crore.
