Salman Khan appeared a bit withdrawn at the trailer launch of Tubelight. It seems he was still in shock from the recent deaths of industry veterans Om Puri, Vinod Khanna and Reema Lagoo. The event was turning out to be a humdrum affair, then Salman Khan spoke about the difficulty of playing child-like characters in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and the upcoming Tubelight (2017).
"A sweatshirt, small pants, and God knows from where they got these shoes," he quipped before talking about the challenge of playing such an innocent character.
"In real life, we are not the purest people," he said, "so it's difficult to pull off such roles. It really plays on a man’s ego. It is a big challenge to dance like that. To maintain the purity of such characters is the most difficult thing."
While Salman Khan wasn't in his elements, he did share a funny tale about music director Pritam.
“Pritamda gets really involved with what he does," Salman Khan said.
"I remember once he was talking on his mobile phone. He noticed a caterpillar and placed it on his other hand. Writers, poets, musicians really cherish these moments. But after a while, I saw him throw his mobile phone away instead of the caterpillar. Similarly, once he forgot where he had parked his car and so reported a car theft."
Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, will be released on 23 June.
