Saif Ali Khan to return as zombie hunter in Dinesh Vijan's Go Goa Gone 2

The failure of Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon only seems to have spurred on Saif Ali Khan harder. The actor has been confirmed as a part of Go Goa Gone 2 by Khan's partner at Illuminati films, Dinesh Vijan. The sequel to the Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK zombie comedy, which came out in 2013, has been greenlit according to Vijan.

In an interview to the tabloid, Mid-day, Vijan said, "Saif and I are talking about a sequel to Go Goa Gone. He is leading the project and the script is now being developed. It’ll be produced under Illuminati Films."

In the 2013 cult film, Khan played the role of a Russian mafioso and zombie slayer, Boris (originally from Delhi though). He expected to reprise the role in the sequel.

Vijan also confirmed that the film will bring together the original cast of Anand Tiwari, Kunal Khemu and Vir Das together as well. There were rumours of Vijan breaking off from Illuminati Films, after he started his own production, Maddock Films in 2014. However, Vijan dismissed any talks of rift.

While the return to production might be welcome, it also marks a prolific year for Saif Ali Khan. The actor already has had one release in Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon (2017), and has three projects coming up later in the year. The actor is a part of the remake of the Hollywood film, Chef. He will also be seen in Gauravv Chawla's Baazaar and Akshat Varma's Kaalakaandi. The actor has also signed on to Vipul Shah's directorial which is scheduled to release next year.

In comparison to the other three Khans, this might be Saif's most prolific year. Since 2015, the actor has only appeared in 2 films, Phantom (2015) and Rangoon (2017). Even before, Khan never had more than 4 releases in a year. 2013 saw the most releases with Race 2, Go Goa Gone, Bullett Raja, and a cameo appearance in Bombay Talkies.

It looks like the birth of his son might have renewed Khan's enthusiasm.
