Rajkummar Rao’s last release, Trapped (2017) was a serious survival saga. But the film saw the actor displaying his sense of humour on a few occasions. Now, the actor has got full license to show his comic side in Ajay K Pannalal’s Behen Hogi Teri.
The first trailer of the film is out and it is clear that Rao is entering the youthful comic drama space with this one.
Behen Hogi Teri tackles the humorous problem boys face when they are forced to consider a girl their sister just because they happen to grow up together. Gattu (Rao) is in love with his childhood friend Binny (Shruti Haasan). But every now and then, there comes a situation where he is asked to consider her his sister.
During our school days, we all have questioned the line from the National Pledge – All Indians are my brothers and sisters. Behen Hogi Teri throws light on this dilemma. The film has that typical north Indian touch to the humour, reminding us of Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). Shah Rukh Khan’s reference deserves a mention too.
The supporting cast is also worth mentioning. It is good to see Ninad Kamat after a long time. The film also stars the likes of Darshan Jariwala, Gulshan Grover and Heri Tangri, who played Yuvraj Singh in M S Dhoni – The Untold Story.
The film takes forward the trend of remixing old classics. This one has the reprised version of the famous ‘Jaanu Meri Jaan,’ which is played throughout the trailer.
Behen Hogi Teri is all set to release on 2 June.
