Veteran actress Reema Lagoo passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in Mumbai today. The actress was 59.
A winner of four Filmfare awards, Lagoo made an impact on Hindi cinema as the sweet, caring mother in films like Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! (1994), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) among others.

It was natural that the film industry came together to express their condolences on Twitter.
It was Rishi Kapoor who first put out an emotional tweet upon hearing the news. The actor who acted opposite Lagoo in one of her earliest films Hamara Khandaan (1988), wrote:

Amitabh Bachchan expressed regret about the fairly 'young' age of Lagoo, and the shocking news of her death.
