A group of hackers have reportedly stolen the copy of Johnny Depp’s upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and have threatened its producers of leaking it online unless they are paid ransom money.
Now, a similar incident has occurred in India. But in this case, the alleged perpetrators have been arrested. The Hyderabad police has arrested six people for allegedly demanding ransom money from the producers of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Six people had reportedly threatened the producers of uploading the film online unless they paid Rs15 lakh as ransom.
Of the six people arrested, one is an owner of a theatre in Bihar. According to the police, the gang regularly makes pirated copies of new Hindi films.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has literally set the box office on fire. The film has earned more than Rs1200 crore worldwide. The collections of the Hindi version alone stand close to Rs450 crore.
Starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Sathyaraj, the film is the second part of the two Baahubali films. The first, Baahubali: The Beginning, released in 2015.
