Tubelight song Radio: Salman Khan back as adorable kidult stealing hearts

The first song from Kabir Khan's film has a hummable quality that plays to Khan's strengths.

The first song from Kabir Khan's Tubelight released yesterday night in Dubai. With a hummable rhythm, quirky dance steps, and an in form Salman Khan, the 'Radio' song is certain to be a hit.

The actor announced the song on his Twitter page, writing '#Radio Bajaiyyo Bajaiyyo zara! Ab bas #RadioSong bajega!'

Composed by Pritam, and sung by Kamaal Khan and Amit Mishra, Radio is a typical opening song for a Salman Khan film. The actor plays the loveable and cheerful do-gooder as he gets the entire village dancing to his tunes. The feel of the song is very similar to 'Selfie le le re' from the last Kabir Khan-Salman Khan blockbuster, Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). In fact, it is choreographed by Remo D'Souza, who also choreographed the song from Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

From the video, it appears that Salman's character is sharing good news with the entire village. There is even a blink and you miss appearance by the late Om Puri as he gets enveloped in a hug by Salman's character.

The composition, credited to Pritam, is quite hummable, and has enough energy to get the crowds tapping their feet. Kamaal Khan manages to sing the song with the right energy. But the key to the entire song lies in Salman Khan. The actor is eye catching with his jerky movements, and antics as the adorable kidult of the village. Like every trademark Salman Khan hit, from Wanted (2009) to Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), the actor delivers a unique dance step that will soon be a trend.

Tubelight is directed by Kabir Khan, and stars Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu in the lead roles. The film is set to release in theatres during the Eid weekend of 2017.
