Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 and Yash Raj Films’ Meri Pyaari Bindu clashed at the box office yesterday. As far as the first day is concerned, the clash had no fizz as both films had poor collections.
The Amitabh Bachchan starrer has earned Rs2.25 crore while the Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra starrer has made a dismal Rs1.75 crore, as per numbers shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Although the collections of Sarkar 3 are better than Meri Pyaari Bindu, its occupancy was much less than the other film. The number of screens received by the RGV film is much higher. The budget of the film is said to be over Rs30 crore. The low turnout on the first day will make it very difficult for the film to reach that number.
The budget of Akshay Roy's Meri Pyaari Bindu is reportedly Rs22 crore. This film too would find it difficult to get decent returns if the numbers don’t pick up on Saturday (today) and Sunday.
On the other hand, the Hindi version SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion continues its dream run. The film collected Rs9.50 crore yesterday, which was its third Friday. It has beaten the previous third Friday record of Dangal (Rs6.20 crore) in a comprehensive manner.
The grand total of the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 now stands at a mammoth Rs395.50 crore.
