While we still don't have confirmation from ABC Network on the fate of Quantico season 3 and Priyanka Chopra is tight-lipped about her next Hindi film, but there is finally some news on what the actress's next project will be.

A Deadline.com report that appeared last night said that Chopra is slated to sign her next Hollywood movie, A Kid Like Jake. Hidden Figures actress Octavia Spencer, Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons and Homeland's Claire Danes have already been confirmed to star in the film. Chopra, Ann Dowd and Michaela Watkins are in negotiations to join the film.

Chopra will be playing the role of a single mother, trying to navigate the school system.

Produced by Parsons's That’s Wonderful Productions, Paul Bernon's Burn Later and Rachel Song's XS Media, the film is based on Daniel Pearle’s celebrated Lincoln Center play A Kid Like Jake. It will be directed by Silas Howard.

The story follows Alex (Danes) and Greg Wheeler (Parsons) who have high hopes for their son Jake, a bright and precocious four-year-old who happens to prefer Cinderella to GI Joe. On the eve of the admissions cycle for New York City kindergartens and aware they can’t afford private school tuition, Judy (Spencer), the director of Jake’s preschool, encourages them to accentuate Jake’s “gender variant” expression to help him stand out and try and get a scholarship.

"As they navigate their roles as parents, a rift grows between them, one that forces them to confront their own concerns about what’s best for Jake, and each other. Chopra will portray Amal, their friend and a newly single mom who is also trying to navigate the school system, as well as her own dating world," writes Deadline.

Even though the official announcement is still awaited, Bernon, the producer of the film, let the cat out of the bag and confirmed Chopra's presence in the film via a tweet.

Bankside Films is launching foreign sales on the project to buyers in Cannes next week. The film is set to shoot this summer in New York.

This project should definitely give Chopra the chance to flex her acting muscles. Meanwhile, Chopra is busy with promotions for next release, Baywatch, which is due to be released in the US on 25 May and in India on 2 June.
