Actor Simbu recently chose to make his debut as a music director by scoring music for his close friend, actor Santhanam’s film.

Simbu’s decision had taken the whole industry by surprise. Naturally, it also triggered a lot of interest in the project titled Sakka Podu Podu Raja. Simbu had made it clear that he was scoring music only for the sake of his close friend, Santhanam.

Now, sources from the unit say that the star has finished composing all five songs in the film, which features Santhanam and Vaibhavi Shandilya in the lead.

Each of the film’s songs has something of interest. For instance, a mass song in the film titled 'Va Munima Va' has been sung by Simbu’s parents, T Rajendar and Usha Rajendar. Then, the intro song of Santhanam has been rendered by music director Anirudh Ravichander while another top music director, Yuvan Shankar Raja, has sung 'Kadhal Devathai'.

As if this wasn’t enough, one of the most promising young music directors in the Tamil film industry, Leon James, has sung the fourth number. The fifth number has been rendered by two new singers, one of whom is Vasudev Krishnan, the son of singer Unni Krishnan.

Sources say that on the shooting front, the film’s unit has completed the talkie portions. Only the songs need to be shot and that is likely to begin by 15 March. The team has plans to shoot the songs in Ooty, Bangalore and Chennai. Two songs are likely to be shot in the US.
