Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are likely to share screen space for a television commercial. As per a report in DNA newspaper, the industry stalwarts have given their nod for a TV commercial on Star Plus. tar network is going for an image makeover with its new tagline being ‘Nayi Soch’ (new thinking). While Aamir has already shot for a commercial playing a Sardarji, buzz has it that the two Khans will now be coming together to shoot a commercial together.
The DNA report quoted a source as saying, "Shah Rukh and Aamir will be part of the Nayi Soch campaign. The promo with Aamir, playing a Sardarji is out and gaining rave reviews. It's a beautiful campaign. Now, as we all know, SRK will be hosting the Indian version of TED Talks: Nayi Soch.”
Shah Rukh is set to return to television as host of the Indian version of TED Talks: Nayi Soch. Aamir had earlier hosted a couple of seasons for television show Satyamev Jayate for the same network. So, the possibility of the duo coming together seems bright.
The two Khans were last seen together in a film in Ashutosh Gowariker’s suspense thriller Pehla Nasha (1993). Salman Khan, too, had joined the two, with the three Khans playing themselves in a dream sequence with the protagonist Deepak Bakshi (Deepak Tijori) dreaming of beating the three Khans for the Best Actor award.
It must be recalled that the only time there was talk of Aamir and Shah Rukh coming together in a film was with Mansoor Khan’s Josh (2000). Back then, it was buzzed that Aamir and Shah Rukh had agreed in principle to be part of the film. However, rumour had it that Shah Rukh wanted to play the protagonist’s role, Max, which Mansoor had planned for Aamir. The Dangal (2016) actor wasn’t pleased and walked out of the project. Shah Rukh ended up playing the lead, while Sharad Kapoor played the role of Prakash, which was initially meant for Shah Rukh.
The duo has come a long way since then. The 51-year-olds even a shot maiden selfie together recently. New era, new soch and a new-found respect.
