Composed by Amaal Malik, 'Roke na ruke naina' is a lovely melancholic ode to sadness and love that takes off from where 'Samjhawan' left off.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's chemistry might not be the only thing to watch out in Shashank Khaitan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania. After the chartbusting 'Tamma Again', the latest song from the film caters to the more melancholic sentiment of separation.
As has become the norm, Arijit Singh sings this beautiful and sad ode to separation. Composed by Amaal Malik, 'Roke na ruke naina' takes off slowly, but is captivating. Malik's composition keeps it simple, and offers the right platform to Singh's voice. Malik's adds a very hummable and easy flow to the composition that adds to its pleasant feel. The use of tabla enhances the experience of the song, adding to it a melancholic touch. It seems like a decent replacement for the wonderful 'Samjhawan' which proved to be a big hit in the first film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya. 'Roke na ruke naina' tackles an almost similar theme, and the lyrics by Kumaar are indicative of that. However, the treatment of the song is far different from the minimalist composition of 'Samjhawan', but equally hummable.
Yet, it is Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's emotional equation that sets the tone to the song. Dhawan has managed to top his personality with the emotional outbursts when necessary. In all, the song has all the characteristics to prove another fantastic addition to Amaal Malik's album.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania is directed by Shashank Khaitan, and stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 10 March.
