Asha Parekh: Priyanka Chopra should star in my biopic

The yesteryear actress wants Sanjay Leela Bhansali to direct her biopic.

The season for biopics has been ripe for the past few years and it refuses to fade away. Now, yesteryear actress Asha Parekh feels that in case a biopic on her is made, she would like Priyanka Chopra to play her.

Parekh was asked the question as to who should play her character in her biopic. She was quite stunned by the question. “Baap re, this is a tricky question,” she said.

After a little prodding, she said, “I feel Priyanka Chopra.”

When asked the reason for it, she replied, “I like her. And I also feel that her antics are very much like me.”

Few months back veteran singer Asha Bhosle too had said that she would like to see Chopra play her role if a biopic was ever made on her.

She was then asked who should direct her biopic. She was taken aback at this too. But without a second thought, she said, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali.”

Parekh is one of the most successful Hindi film actresses. She has starred in more than 90 films and is known the most for films like Kati Patang (1970), Teesri Manzil (1966), Baharon Ke Sapne (1967), Upkar (1967), Love In Tokyo (1966), etc.

She started her career as a child artist in the early 1950s, she was active for almost 50 years. Parekh was honoured with the Padma Shri by the government of India in 1992.
