Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who plays the dreaded Haseena Parkar in Apoorva Lakhia's Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai, shared a new still from the film. The still has both, Shraddha and brother Siddhant playing Haseena and Dawood in Lakhia's film.
Director Lakhia shared a picture on his Twitter feed, writing 'And introducing the brother @SiddhanthKapoor to his sister @ShraddhaKapoor #Haseena @AnkBhatia real to reel life siblings, 14th July, 2017'
The film delves into the personal lives of two of Mumbai's most infamous names, Dawood Ibrahim and his sister, Haseena Parkar.
While Dawood was convicted in the dreaded 1993 bomb blasts that tore Mumbai, it was Haseena who controlled his empire. While Shraddha seems to have captured the essence of the doughty Haseena, it is Siddhant's nonchalance that catches your attention. It is also the first look for the actor in this character. From the shades to the gaudy suit, Siddhant looks to have got the costume and mannerisms of the dreaded crime lord right. In some ways, he also carries a resemblance to a young Shakti Kapoor circa the 1980s.
In a recent interview with PTI news agency, Shraddha had mentioned that she was quite 'excited' about working with her brother. She said, "I am very excited and nervous because I've been thinking if I have to do a scene with him, I've to forget that he is my bhaiya. He is the character in the film who is also my brother. But ultimately I think it'll help that we are brothers and sisters. I hope that bond translates on screen."
The actress will also be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Half Girlfriend, which will release theatrically in May.
Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai is set to release theatrically in July.
