The basic plot of Mani Ratam's eagerly awaited upcoming film Kaatru Veliyidai, featuring actor Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead, is out even before the film's release, thanks to the British Board of Film Classification. The film, starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, has received quite the buzz online for its visually scenic trailer. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has put out a summary of the film on its website which reads, "Kaatru Veliyidai is a Tamil language romantic drama in which a military pilot, being held as a prisoner of war, remembers his romance with a local doctor."
Director Mani Ratnam is known to keep his cards close to his chest and does not prefer revealing anything about his movies before their release. That was the case with Kaatru Veliyidai as well. Very little was known about the plot of the film until the BBFC put out this summary on its website.
Kaatru Veliyidai has been granted a 12 A rating by the BBFC, has been passed there with no cuts. The site also indicates that the film is 2 hours and 26 minutes long.
The film also has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
Kaatru Veliyidai is scheduled to release theatrically in India in the first week of April.
