In an eight year long career, Richa Chadda has constantly sought to reinvent herself through her roles. Now, the actress is poised to make another career-defining choice by turning author. The actress is also preparing for the shoot for the sequel to the 2013 comedy, Fukrey.
A source said, "For her debut book, she has collaborated with a leading publishing house, and the book will deal with how misogyny is perceived by a young woman in India with a humorous take on it. Living in a country like we do, where gender discrimination is prevalent, if not as much as before, eve-teasing is a part of everyday life, a story like this could never be spoken about enough till it’s not there anymore."
The actress has been very active on social media, participating in several videos talking about feminism. The actress's book will be set in Delhi, revolving around the life of a young woman from middle-class Delhi. The source added, "Although it may seem, the talk about feminism, or such casualties are ordinary, Richa has added a shade of humour to the context. The story is not just committed to a point of view but is said to rather bring about the irony behind it, with the humour. Not just for her on-screen work, Richa has an admiring audience for always being vocal about her opinion which is often so honest, and not biased, which makes the book furthermore appealing."
The actress will be seen in Cabaret (2017), Babumoshai Bandookbaz (2017) and Fukrey Returns (2017) later this year.
