Even before SS Rajamouli's epic Baahubali: The Conclusion hits the theatres, it is already breaking records. After receiving more than 50 million views on the first day for its trailer, the film is now set to get the maximum number of screens across India. Reports suggest that Rajamouli's film will release in a whopping 6,500 screens across the country on opening day.

According to a tweet by South Indian cinema analyst, Ramesh Bala, the film starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati has received more than 6,500 screens throughout India. The film is also set to hit the count of 1,000 screens worldwide.

Rajamouli's fantasy epic has already generated close to Rs500 crore through distribution and television rights. However, the massive number of screens offers the film a clear advantage over any rivals it might have on opening day. Although the number might come as a surprise, it is evidence of the clout and power of producer Karan Johar in the market. Incidentally, the move has something to do with Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Raees (2017).

This massive move might have the makers of Khan-starrer, Raees, to thank. In conversation with Cinestaan.com, a source had revealed, "The makers of Raees gave the distribution rights to Anil Thadani through his close friend Karan Johar. Johar is distributing Baahubali: The Conclusion. So, the theatres are compelled to give more screens to Raees if they want Baahubali 2 when it releases."

Shah Rukh's Raees v/s Hrithik's Kaabil: Trade experts predict box-office outcome

One of the biggest, if not the biggest, films of the year, Baahubali: The Conclusion is expected to cross the magical Rs300-crore mark. Given this scenario, it is clear why distributors might have agreed to the demand made. It seems to have worked like a charm for Johar and Rajamouli.

At the recent India Today conclave, director Rajamouli had suggested that the conclusion will exceed the expectations of the previous film. The film is being released in the three major languages of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, offering it a far wider platform than its predecessor.

Baahubali: The Conclusion stars Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Nasser among others. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 28 April.
