Akshay Kumar will get to pursue his dream of being in a sports biopic as he will be seen in Reema Kagti's Gold —  a film about India’s first Olympic medal as a free nation in 1948. However, Swara Bhaskar, who was said to be part of the film, has put to rest the rumours.

"While I would love to work with Akshay sir who I’m a fan of and with Reema Kagti whose work I admire deeply, sadly, the fact is I am not at all a part of Gold. I know it’s a great script and I wish the team well for the shoot,” Bhaskar told lifestyle website Pinkvilla.com.

While Bhaskar is not part of Gold, Dear Zindagi actor Kunal Kapoor will wield the hockey stick with Kumar, reported entertainment website BollywoodLife.com. Both Kumar and Kapoor will be training for 4-5 months before the film goes on floors in July or August this year.

Gold is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment.

Kumar is currently shooting for his wife’s co-production Padman.
