Katrina Kaif has a busy 2017 ahead of her. With Jagga Jasoos, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Aanand L Rai's next, the actress has a busy schedule this year. However, the easiest prep would be for the role in Aanand L Rai's film, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The actress is reportedly playing herself in the film.
The daily, Deccan Chronicle, quoted a source saying, "The film is primarily about the journey of SRK from Meerut to the United States of America, and Katrina comes in as herself, at a very crucial time in the film."
However, the film's writer, Himanshu Varma has been quoted suggesting there is more to the story. He said, "Not really. It’s way more complicated. You all have to wait for a while to know more about it. I’m not in a position to give out any details at this point of time."
This is not the first time Kaif has lived her own life on screen. The actress played herself in the montage 'Sheila Ki Jawani' directed by Zoya Akhtar in Bombay Talkies (2013). She also played herself in a guest appearance for the title track of Bodyguard (2011).
It will be the second time Katrina Kaif teams up with Shah Rukh Khan, since Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). It will also mark the first collaboration between the actors and director Rai. The film also has Khan playing a dwarf, for the first time in his career.
For now, both actors are busy working on other films. Shah Rukh Khan is completing Imtiaz Ali's Rehnuma, while Katrina Kaif is on set with Salman Khan for Tiger Zinda Hai.
