The latest trailer for Shivam Nair's Naam Shabana is oozing with the feel of sacrifice and patriotism. The film, starring Taapsee Pannu, Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Anupam Kher is billed as the high action suspense prequel to the 2015 hit, Baby.

The film might be a spin off, but the trailer certainly offers a new perspective into the RAW team that Baby revolved around. Anupam Kher reprises his role as the pessimistic Shukla, while Akshay Kumar makes a dramatic entry as the no nonsense officer, Ajay Singh Rajput. The trailer begins with a slow introduction of the kind of officers that embody the project, helmed by Manoj Bajpayee's character. The trailer packs quite a punch, with Taapsee taking on the major part of the action.

The trailer places key emphasis on the sacrifices made by Shabana's character while doing her duties. From lying to her mother to fighting her own demons, Shabana goes through a tough journey before she makes it through. As Bajpayee's character says, "Those who work with us, cross all boundaries." Prithviraj plays the arms smuggler Tony, who is being pursued by this daring team. Unlike the first trailer, Manoj Bajpayee makes a longer appearance, hinting at his role as the puppet master behind the entire operation.

Taapsee Pannu underwent martial arts training to prepare for her character in the film, and it shows. Anupam Kher's turn as the pessimistic, but practical, Shukla is one to watch out for. It was among the more memorable characters from the original, Baby.

Naam Shabana is directed by Shivam Nair, and produced by Neeraj Pandey. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 31 March.
