Rajini’s 2.0 satellite rights sold for whopping Rs110 crore

Raju Mahalingam, creative director of Lyca Productions, confirmed that Zee has bought the satellite rights of Shankar's magnum opus but did not speak about the amount involved. 

If Industry sources are to be believed, the satellite rights of director Shankar’s upcoming magnum opus, 2.0, featuring superstar Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in the lead, have been bought by Zee for a whopping Rs110 crore!

The film, which is being made on a budget of over Rs350 crore by Lyca Productions, also features Akshay Kumar in a prominent role and has music by Oscar winner AR Rahman.

If the sources are to be believed, the deal has caught the attention of quite a number of people in industry circles. The sources said the deal is huge, considering that the rights have been sold for 15 years only.

Raju Mahalingam, creative director of Lyca, confirmed that Zee has bought the satellite rights of 2.0 but did not speak about the amount involved. Raju Mahalingam tweeted, 'It's TRUE" Lyca Productions gets a partner in Zee for our Mega Opus 2.0 Satellite!!!'

The film, which is fast nearing completion, is scheduled to hit screens for Deepavali this year. Already, the talkie portions of the film have been completed and work on the CG front is progressing fast. Only a song and some small patchwork scenes remain to be shot.
