Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor's Padman goes on the floors

With a name like Padman and Akshay Kumar in the lead, the film has generated quite the buzz and curiosity among film lovers. The first step towards the release has begun with the R Balki directed film going on floors from today. Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna is one of the producers of the film. Apart from Kumar, the film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

While none of the actors or producers have disclosed the development, Girish Johar, who also served as co-producer in Kumar’s Rustom (2016), tweeted the announcement.

The first poster of Padman had a sanitary napkin on it, suggesting that it could be a biopic on an Indian man who handmade the first low-cost sanitary napkin in the country. There's buzz that the film is inspired by true events.

This is the first film Kumar and Balki will be working on together. It’s also the first time that the trio of Kumar, Apte and Sonam Kapoor will come together.
