There is no doubt of the fan-following and admiration cricketer Virat Kohli enjoys, even though he did not live up to the expectations in the first Test match against Australia in Pune last week. The flamboyant cricketer also has an unintentional contribution to the upcoming film, Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Varun Dhawan, the lead actor of the film, has modelled his hairstyle in the film on Kohli. The makers have just released pictures of the actor and cricketer sporting the same hairstyle.

It all happened when Dhawan once asked director Shashank Khaitan what haircut Badri should sport and whose fan he could be. Talking to a daily, Dhawan revealed that the director said, “Tu Virat Kohli ka fan hai. Today, every child in our country is a Kohli fan.” He continued, “I quickly called my hairstylist and told him, ‘I want a haircut like Virat’. Coincidentally, Kohli was in his salon for a haircut, too. I dropped everything, and told him, ‘I am coming there right now.’”

Dhawan shares a good relationship with Kohli and the duo were a part of the same football club. Interestingly, in Dhawan's last film Dishoom (2016), the character of a cricketer was based on Kohli. The cricketer had given his consent for the same.

Also starring Alia Bhatt, Badrinath Ki Dulhania will be released on 10 March.
