Nawazuddin Siddiqui has five releases lined up this year, and one of them is Kushan Nandy's Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. The teaser for the film was released today, and has Nawazuddin Siddiqui at his subversive best. The teaser also captures the milieu of the country's heartland with the violence and sex contrasted by the mellow voice of Amin Sayani on the radio.
Filled with elements of intrigue, racy scenes, and Siddiqui in top form, Nandy's film looks as intriguing as they come. The film begins with a casual Siddiqui introducing his job as that of 'outsourcing for Yamraj'. The fast paced teaser also offers a glimpse into the reckless, relentlessy wacky nature of Siddiqui's character.
The teaser describes the character as a drunk, lecher, show off, and an assassin above all. From his lust for women to an absolutely candid take on his murderous profession, the actor captures his character with cool abandon. The kicker line is definitely him nonchalantly telling off a scared witness 'Free mein thode na maarenge, ek hi ka paisa diya hai.' (I won't kill you just like that. I have been paid only for one murder.)
The actor is on a roll picking up stand out characters in films like Sridevi-starrer Mom, Nandita Das's Manto, and the Tiger Shroff dance comedy, Munna Michael.
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz also stars Chitrangada Singh. The film is co-produced by Ashmit Kunder. The makers of the film are planning an August release, however, there is no final date on the film's release yet.
