In a surprising turn of events, Paresh Rawal has denied making any statement about him wanting to work in Pakistani films and television shows. The actor and politician stated yesterday that he had been misquoted.
Paresh Rawal: Our shows are boring, I'd love to act in Pakistani films, television
Speaking to an agency, he said, “I never said I want to work in Pakistani films, neither is it my wish. I want to categorically state this. I have been misquoted.”
Not just that, he has also denied calling Indian TV shows ‘boring.’ “I just said that I liked Pakistan’s TV serial Humsafar but never said ours are boring. I only said ours are a little slow,” he added.
Rawal was earlier quoted by another news agency saying, “Yes, I would love to work in Pakistani films and shows. I love all Pakistani TV serials like Humsafar, the way they act, the story, the writing, the language; it’s all good. I feel our shows are boring.”
The actor-cum-Member of Parliament was also quoted saying that artists and cricketers from across the border don’t have a terror agenda but one should refrain from working with them when the situation is tense. “I believe that artistes and cricketers don’t come and throw bombs. They are not terrorists, rather they bridge the gap between the two countries. But when the mood is not good why rake up issues at that time? It is better to stay with your country,” he was quoted as saying.
