Residents of Mumbai and Delhi are all too familiar with the age-old battle of 'which is better — Mumbai or Delhi'. People of both cities like to indulge in an argument often and now these have found their way in a film song.

Makers of Bank Chor Yash Raj Films unveiled the 'BC Rap Knockout: Mumbai vs Delhi' song. The highlight of the song is the presence of star boxer Vijender Singh. Bank Chor Ritiesh Deshmukh is bragging about Mumbai, while Singh is waxing lyrical about Delhi. Rapper Naezy is the voice of Deshmukh, while Singh is lip syncing to the voice of Pardhaan.

From Gateway of India to India Gate, Sachin to Sehwag, Karol Bagh ke kareley to Churchgate ke charsi, lyricist Varun Likhate (quite an appropriate surname) has included all the basic jibes that Mumbaikars and Delhiites trade to claim bragging rights. The confrontational track is backed by riveting music by Shamir Tandon.

Deshmukh and Singh deserve full credit for their respective Maharastrian and Haryanvi swagger in the visuals.

For a boxer, Singh has always displayed great confidence while facing the camera. He doesn’t disappoint in this track too. The writer, musician and the actors have done their job, but the real credit of the track has to go to the two rappers — Naezy and Pardhaan.

Naved Shaikh, better known as Naezy, comes from the slums of Kurla in Mumbai. As the world knows now, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is based on Naezy’s life with Ranveer Singh playing the lead role. The robust Mumbai slumdog attitude is reflected in Naezy’s voice and mannerisms.

Pardhaan hails from Karnal, Haryana. The Mumbai vs Delhi banter is all in good taste and there lies the success of the song.

Watch the 'BC Rap Knockout: Mumbai vs Delhi' track. It's catchy and memorable. Bank Chor will be released on 16 June.
