Sridevi has remained tight-lipped about daughter Jhanvi Kapoor's foray into acting, but husband Boney Kapoor has now confirmed that they’ve given their consent to Jhanvi for her debut in a Karan Johar film.
At the trailer launch of her film Mom, Sridevi was accompanied by her two daughters, Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor. It was only last week that stories emerged of Jhanvi, 19, signing on for her debut in the Hindi remake of Marathi film Sairat (2016). The film will be produced by Karan Johar, and directed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) director, Shashank Khaitan.
When asked about her daughter's debut, the actress was as guarded as ever. Sridevi said, “Today, we will talk about Jhanvi’s mom, we will talk about Jhanvi later.”
While Sridevi remained tight-lipped, husband Boney Kapoor, who is the producer of Mom, confirmed that their daughter was set to make her debut with a Karan Johar film.
“Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we've given consent. But we don't know which project it would be. Since Karan has recently acquired the remake rights of Sairat it is being presumed that our daughter would be launched in this project,” Kapoor was quoted as saying in a DNA report.
Earlier, Cinestaan had called director Shashank Khaitan who refused to confirm anything, but asked us to 'wait for an official announcement.'
Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi and Shahid Kapoor’s half brother Ishan Khattar are tipped to make their debut with the Sairat remake.
