Salman Khan's big Eid release Tubelight continues to crawl at the box office.
The first Wednesday (28 June) collection was just Rs5.75 crore, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. That is a 50% drop from its collections on the previous day (Tuesday) where it bagged Rs11.75 crore nett.
The six-day collection of Tubelight stands at Rs98.75 crore. The collections on Eid (26 June) was just Rs18.50 crore which is low considering Salman's box office standards.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight has released across 4,400 screens in India. The worry for Tubelight though is that it is made at a budget of Rs100 crore, which doesn’t include Salman's fees. Buzz has it that Salman's remuneration includes the satellite rights which were sold to Star for Rs60 crore.
Tubelight faces an uphill task to reach the Rs150-crore mark.
What may work in the film’s favour is that there is no big release till Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos which hits the theatres on 14 July.
