Shah Rukh Khan is currently filming for Aanand L Rai's next film, in which he reportedly plays a dwarf. The idea that Khan will play an exceedingly short man has already generated a lot of hype for the film. Now it is learnt that Rai has roped in filmmaker-actor Tigmanshu Dhulia to play Khan’s character's father in the film.
Dhulia, who is currently promoting his own directorial venture Raag Desh, told reporters that he had already shot for most of his scenes in the as-yet-untitled film and has a couple of days more to wind up his shooting. The actor-director said he had great fun while shooting his portion.
The film is slated for release next year. Apart from Khan and Dhulia, the film stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
The Raag Desh director is no stranger to facing the camera, having played the antagonist Ramadhir Singh in Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012). As a matter of fact, over the years, Dhulia the director appears to have taken a back seat to Dhulia the actor, with him performing roles in films like Hero (2015) and Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2015). He even acted in the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer TV series Yudh.
Dhulia’s last film as director was the dud Bullet Raja (2013) starring Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Shergill.
