Seeking to put an end to the controversy that has erupted over his statement on actor Rajinikanth entering politics, actor Gautham Karthik has issued a clarification.
The young actor, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Ivan Thandiran, met reporters at Trichy recently. It is here that Gautham Karthik is believed to have made a statement on the senior actor's entry into politics.
According to media reports, Karthik said, "I do not know anything about politics. I am not for Rajinikanth entering politics. I would want him to always be an actor and a superstar. This is my personal opinion. I too do not wish to enter politics."
As expected, his statement caused a stir. The actor has now released a video clip on his Twitter account clarifying his comment. In the clip, he says ,"The controversy is because of a misconception. I was asked if I would support Rajini sir if he came to politics. What I had said was that I know nothing about politics. To me, Rajini sir is a superstar. I only look at him that way. This is all that I said. They have quoted me out of context and written it in a different way."
