GV Prakash sings for uncle AR Rahman in Tamil film Mersal

Nearly 18 years ago, he had crooned as a youngster in Rahman's Tamil film Mudhalvana.

Actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar on Monday said he has sung an "energetic" number in Oscar-winning music maestro AR Rahman's composition for upcoming Tamil actioner Mersal.

"Happy to announce that I have sung an energetic number in Mersal for my favourite A.R. Rahman Sir and Vijay," Prakash Kumar tweeted.

Nearly 18 years ago, he had crooned as a youngster in Rahman's Tamil film Mudhalvana. Prakash Kumar is the son of G Venkatesh and playback singer, AR Reihana, elder sister of Rahman.

Mersal, directed by Atlee, stars Vijay in a triple role.

He is tipped to be playing a Panchayat head, a doctor and a magician in the film produced by Sri Thenandal Studios.

The film, gearing up for Diwali release, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen apart from a host of supporting artists.
