VIP 2 trailer: Kajol is fierce, Dhanush steals the show in this big clash

After being absent from the teaser, Kajol makes an appearance in the first trailer of Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 (VIP2) that released on Monday. The film, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, stars Kajol, Dhanush and Amala Paul in lead roles.

The 3-minute long trailer begins with Raghuvaran (Dhanush) being back to square one as he goes through the same struggle of finding a job. While his attitude to life remains the same, he is now a married man with added responsibilities to boot. Just as he finds another job to get his engineering ambitions going, a clash erupts with the business magnate played by Kajol, Vasundhara.

The trailer hinges on the anticipated clash between Kajol and Dhanush, and to good effect. While Kajol manages to deliver some fire in her Tamil dialogues, despite the 20 year hibernation, Dhanush is still the hero of the film. The trailer is filled with one-liner punches (written by Dhanush himself) that make this film worth waiting for.

Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 is set to release in theatres on 28 July.
