A member of the art direction unit which was working to erect a huge set for superstar Rajinikanth's next film, Kaala Karikaalan, had to be hospitalized after suffering an electric shock.
The incident took place at EVP Park at Pazhanjoor near Poonamallee in Chennai.
A source close to the film unit identified the person who was electrocuted as 31-year-old Rajesh. They said Rajesh was helping to erect the set with other members of the art direction unit when he stepped on a live wire lying on the ground.
Rajesh was rushed to a private hospital nearby and sources say his condition is critical. The news has got the Kaala Karikaalan team concerned.
Meanwhile, sources say Rajinikanth might head back to Mumbai as director Pa Ranjith wishes to reshoot certain sequences again. Rajinikanth is expected to leave for Mumbai in a day or two. He is expected to shoot in Mumbai for a week before returning to Chennai.
The actor, after finishing the first schedule, had only recently returned to Chennai.
Kaala Karikaalan is expected to be released in January next year.
