The first look of John Abraham's Parmanu is out. The actor released the poster on his Twitter handle on Wednesday. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is based on India's first successful nuclear tests conducted at Pokhran, Rajasthan in 1974.
The poster is minimalistic, and highlights the event at the centre of the film. With the face of John Abraham superimposed on the map of Rajasthan, the poster has a very bare design. The red dot at the centre of the poster marks the central location of the successful nuclear blasts conducted by India. India launched its first nuclear tests in Pokhran on 18 May, 1974.
So happy to bring you the first look of my biggest test ever. #ParmanuFirstLook @johnabrahament @kriarj @ParmanuTheMovie pic.twitter.com/6lT18U02fQ

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran also stars Boman Irani, Diana Penty and Zachary Coffin in important roles. Abraham has also co-written the film along with Neerja (2016) writers, Sanyukta Shaikh Chawla and Saiwyn Quadras.
In a statement during the announcement of the film, Abraham had said, "The road to Pokhran has been paved. It's time to embark on a journey to revisit the mission that changed the place of India on the world map and turning the course of modern India's position in the world as a strong nuclear state."
While it is unclear as to what Abraham's character in the film is, the position of his profile on the map points out that he is playing a central character in the effort to take India forward as a nuclear state.
Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is set to be released on 8 December this year.
